Upgrade the factory electronic diverter valves on your 2025+ Ram 1500 equipped with the 3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo Inline-6 with the Turbosmart Kompact EM PlumBack VR32 Blow-Off Valve Kit. Designed as a true direct replacement for the factory electronic valves, the VR32 system combines Turbosmart's motorsport-proven billet valve technology with complete factory electronic integration for improved boost sealing, durability, and response without requiring a tune or complicated external plumbing.
The 3.0L Hurricane uses electronically controlled factory diverter valves to manage boost pressure when the throttle closes. Turbosmart developed the Kompact EM VR32 specifically for the Hurricane platform as a complete replacement rather than a spacer or adapter that continues to rely on the original valves. Installation is designed to be straightforward: unplug and unbolt the factory valves, install the Turbosmart assemblies, and reconnect the factory electronic connections. No external reference hoses, separate solenoids, adapters, or additional valve assemblies are required.
At the heart of the VR32 is Turbosmart's Boost-Balance Valve Technology. The design uses boost pressure to assist valve sealing, meaning the valve's ability to remain sealed increases as boost pressure rises. This makes the system particularly valuable for turbocharged vehicles running increased boost or performance modifications where maintaining a reliable seal becomes increasingly important.
Unlike the factory plastic valve construction, the Kompact EM uses a durable CNC-machined billet construction with high-temperature O-rings. Turbosmart also incorporates a proprietary high-temperature electronic solenoid directly into each valve along with internal pressure-control passages. This provides the durability and performance benefits of an aftermarket billet valve while retaining OE-style electronic control.
This version is the PlumBack configuration. Instead of venting discharged boost pressure into the atmosphere, the valves recirculate it back into the intake system in a manner similar to the factory diverter valves. This makes the PlumBack version ideal for Ram owners who want the performance and reliability advantages of the Turbosmart system while maintaining a more discreet, factory-style operating character.
Turbosmart supplies two Kompact EM diverter valves because the Hurricane uses a twin-turbo arrangement. The complete kit also includes the required fasteners and spacers, providing everything necessary to replace both factory valves.
The VR32 is compatible with both Standard Output (SO) and High Output (HO) versions of the 3.0L Hurricane engine, making it suitable across multiple Hurricane-powered Ram 1500 configurations. Turbosmart also provides separate installation documentation for the SO and HO applications.
For stock trucks, tuned applications, and higher-boost Hurricane builds, the Turbosmart Kompact EM PlumBack VR32 provides a premium upgrade focused on stronger boost sealing, improved durability, responsive valve operation, and true plug-and-play integration.

Boost-Balance Valve Technology
One of the most important features of the Turbosmart Kompact EM is its Boost-Balance Valve Design.
Traditional valves can become increasingly difficult to keep sealed as boost pressure increases. Turbosmart designed the Boost-Balance system so that increasing boost pressure actually assists the valve in maintaining its seal.
In practical terms:
The more boost pressure the Hurricane produces, the more effectively the valve is designed to seal.
This makes the VR32 particularly attractive for Ram owners planning performance modifications or increased boost levels.
True Electronic Plug-and-Play Integration
The Kompact EM system isn't simply a mechanical blow-off valve adapted to fit the factory location.
Turbosmart integrates its own proprietary electronic solenoid and internal pressure-control channels directly into the valve assembly. This allows the VR32 to communicate and operate through the vehicle's existing electronic valve control system.
Installation does not require:
-
External vacuum lines
-
Reference hoses
-
Separate solenoids
-
Additional wiring systems
-
BOV adapters
The factory valve is unplugged and removed, and the Kompact EM installs directly in its place.
PlumBack Design
This particular kit is the PlumBack VR32.
PlumBack means discharged boost pressure is recirculated back into the intake system rather than vented directly into the atmosphere.
This configuration is best suited for owners looking for:
-
Factory-style recirculation
-
A more discreet BOV upgrade
-
Improved valve construction and sealing
-
OE-style operation
-
Performance without emphasizing atmospheric blow-off sound
For owners specifically wanting a more noticeable blow-off-valve sound, Turbosmart also manufactures a separate Dual Port VR32 configuration. The Dual Port version is a different Turbosmart part number and should not be confused with this PlumBack kit.
Billet Construction
Turbosmart replaces the factory-style plastic valve architecture with a much more robust billet construction.
The Kompact EM system also incorporates high-temperature O-rings and a positive sealing O-ring on the piston face. These features are designed to provide reliable sealing and operation in the high-temperature environment surrounding a modern twin-turbocharged engine.
Designed for Increased Boost
Turbosmart specifically states that the Boost-Balance architecture is designed so increased boost does not cause the valve to leak open.
This makes the VR32 appropriate not only for factory-output Hurricane engines but also for vehicles running compatible performance modifications and increased boost.
On extremely highly modified applications, Turbosmart notes that the practical limitation eventually becomes how much airflow the valves can bypass while open rather than their ability to remain sealed under boost.
